Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary

Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuaryalso known as Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over an area of 345 sq km. The stunning and exotic varieties of flora and fauna add to its desirability quotient. Declared a site for Project Elephant in 1992, one can spot herds of elephants here. Poaching these pachyderms had led to its depletion and this Project helped revive these gentle beasts in herds. Magnificent as well as protected species of animals like Gaur, Dholes, Cheetah, Jackal and Bengal Tigers roam about freely here and the lucky few can spot it! Entry is restricted here, permitting one to travel only between 7am-9am and 3pm-5pm. Natural whiff of fresh air combined with the aroma of coffee and tea plantations nearby makes every trip to this sanctuary worthwhile.
Entries to the above places are under the control of Government, Forest, and other tourism Authorities.
Areas of interests are wide and varied. The executives of Vythirihills can offer perfect packages and getaways at economic rates and help make albums of fond memories that can be cherished forever.
